    Mother hopes for justice in daughter's murder case

    Andrea Brannigan, mother of Danielle McLaughlin, is concerned about Vikat Bhagat's upcoming appeal against his life sentence for the rape and murder of her daughter. Bhagat's appeal, postponed to September 9, follows his conviction in February 2025 based on strong forensic evidence and eyewitness accounts. Danielle was murdered in Goa in March 2017 shortly after her arrival.
